Mission Statement

The Church of New Hope A/G exists for the purpose of establishing a place for Jesus Christ to be glorified and for all people to freely find hope in God. We seek to care for all and to be diverse and creative in our Pentecostal expression, practice, and proclamation of the historic and living Christian Gospel.

Core Values

The fruit of the Spirit as is listed in Galatians 5:22-23:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Ministry Job Descriptions

Ministry Leadership Team

Shall consist of the following positions until there is a change of personnel. These leaders shall be charged with the primary ministries of providing vision, preaching, teaching, leading in worship, and officiating the Ordinances of the Church.

LEAD PASTOR: Shall be responsible for the overall welfare of the church and provide leadership at all levels. The primary concern shall be effective ministry which is reflective of the church motto, mission statement, core values, and theme verses.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR(S): Shall serve directly under the governance of the Lead Pastor and shall assist in matters of directing the ministries of the church, planning community outreach, website upkeep, teaching and preaching, and providing pastoral care.

YOUTH PASTOR: Shall serve directly under the governance of the Lead Pastor and provide ministry to students of middle-school and high-school age during the midweek family night time and at other appropriate times.

CHILDREN'S PASTOR: Shall serve directly under the governance of the Lead Pastor and provide ministry to boys and girls of preschool and elementary school age during Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, as well as any summer VBS events.

WORSHIP PASTOR: Shall be responsible for the presentation of church music, drama, dance, and other expressions of creative arts which are in relationship to church worship. Oversight of technical ministries, including sound, projector, computers, and multi-media shall be included.

MINISTER TO SHUT-INS & NURSING HOMES: Shall serve directly under the governance of the Lead Pastor and provide ministry to those members of the congregation and others who are disabled and incapable of attending church services by providing on site ministry through word, song, and ordinances.

WORLD MISSIONS DIRECTOR: Shall serve directly under the governance of the Lead Pastor and shall be responsible for liaison efforts with all Assembly of God missionaries who are supported by the church. He/she shall also work in conjunction with the pastor for any other world mission efforts including planning of the annual missions' convention.

SCHOLAR(S) IN RESIDENCE: Shall serve in cooperation with the Lead Pastor in an advisory role and provide ministry to the church in matters of preaching, teaching, and providing expert analysis in matters of biblical interpretation when so called upon.

Administrative Leadership Team

Shall consist of the laity overseeing and performing a variety of tasks to carry out the day-to-day functioning of the church, including office management, finance, and building & grounds.

OFFICE MANAGER: Shall serve directly under the governance of the Lead Pastor and be responsible for the daily operation of the church in matters of mail, telephone calls, visitors, bulletin, calendar, and so forth.

OFFICIAL BOARD: Shall serve the church and shall act in an advisory capacity to the Lead Pastor in matters pertaining to the assembly, its spiritual life, and its ministry of the ordinances.

SECRETARY OF THE OFFICIAL BOARD: Shall keep the minutes of the Official Board and the annual and special business meetings of the assembly. He or she shall keep the roster of membership and shall perform any other clerical work necessary to properly discharge his or her duties. He or she shall be the custodian of all legal documents.

FINANCE COMMITTEE: Shall serve the church in all matters regarding finance and shall act in an advisory role to the Lead Pastor and the Official Board.

SECRETARY OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE: Shall keep the minutes of the Finance Committee.

TREASURER & BOOKKEEPER: Shall be entrusted with all the finances of the assembly and be responsible to deposit all funds in a reputable bank in the name of the assembly and shall disburse the same by check, as authorized by the Lead Pastor and the Official Board. Shall keep a detailed record; along with the Finance Committee; of the receipts and disbursements of the assembly.

COUNTERS: Shall serve under the direction of the Treasurer/Bookkeeper and be responsible for the organizing, counting, and totaling all monies provided by church tithes, offerings, and gifts.

BUILDING & GROUNDS DIRECTOR: Shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of church facilities, sign, and properties through record keeping and coordinating volunteers for work. He or she shall provide reports and recommendations to the Official Board and Lead Pastor.
